This is my actual set up, I keep it hidden behind the cabinet, but for this occasion I let it be seen in all of it's glory.Last week I called 012 Smile (ironic name if you ask me) and they gave me nothing to smile about. I was determined to find out why I pay for 5mb upload (guaranteed) but am only getting 1-2 mb. Of course, the second I plug everything in with them on the phone my speed is in the 5-6mb range. So I then think it is my router and I do everything in my power to diagnose. I started at 3pm and ended at 10:30pm after talking to them numerous times. I tried 2 different routers, 3 different computers, and fought off every attempt that they made to try to blame my network. I was successful, and they admitted that it may be my user name and login causing problems. They told me to call back the next day and request a new one.
I call back the next day, request a new one and I am told "NO". I proceeded to then lose it with them in a very loud and profanity laced tirade. I was sick of it, of them always passing the buck, of them always blaming everyone else except their own horrible network. I explained to the man that I spent many hours on the phone diagnosing and I was not about to go through the process again with him - JUST GIVE ME MY FREAKIN USER NAME AND PASSWORD!
I don't know why this is so hard, just assign a new one, finished. He then gave me a new password saying I didn't need a new user name and I laid into him asking him "how stupid do you think I am, I want a new USER NAME as well".
After a half hour of threatening and screaming like a baby (it is amazing how low Israeli customer service can make one sink) I got what I wanted, a new user name and password. Now here is the fun part, my speed still sucked!
Turns out the problem is with HOT, the do not have enough bandwidth to support Beit Shemesh. This sucks.
